Capsicum Cheese Toast is an easy and cheesy bread toast that can be made in a jiffy for breakfast or evening snack. It has bread, cheese and capsicum; as simple as that. This is quick baked version, you can also make it on stove top. Come, let’s see how to make this tasty recipe at home with easy method and step by step pictures.
Capsicum Cheese Toast | Bell Pepper Cheese Toast
Ingredients
- Sandwich bread- 8 slices
- Chopped capsicum/ bell pepper- 1 cup
- Grated Mozzarella Cheese- 1 cup
- Salt – as required
- Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli flakes- 1/2 tsp
- Italian seasoning- 1/2 tsp
- Oil – 1/2 tsp (for greasing)
Directions
- Preparation: Deseed and finely chop the capsicum; I used red, yellow and green.
- Add the capsicum, cheese, salt, pepper, red chilli flakes and italian seasoning to a bowl and mix well.
- Add the prepared capsicum cheese mixture on bread slice and arrange on greased tray.
- Preheat the oven to 430° F (or 220° C) and place the tray in the top rack and grill for 5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Cut and serve hot. Delicious cheesy capsicum toast is ready to eat!
You can also make it on stove top instead of baking: Place the bread slice on greased pan and close it with a lid. Toast in low flame until the edges turn golden and the cheese melts.
Notes
- Oven times may vary; if the cheese has not melted in 5 minutes, grill for 2 more minutes.
- Check on the bread in the oven to prevent burning as we are grilling at high temperature.
- If you bake it for long time, the cheese will brown on the top and become hard.
- You can also add finely chopped green chilli instead of red chilli flakes and pepper powder.
- It tastes best when hot, so consume immediately.
