  • Jalapeños – 1 (OR) Pickled jalapeños – 1 tbsp
  • Cilantro – 1/4 cup
  • Salt – as required
  • Pepper powder – as required
  • Lime juice – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Finely chop the tomato, onion, capsicum, jalapenos and cilantro and add to a mixer or food proessor along with salt, pepper and lime juice and pulse for a few seconds until desired consistency is reached.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and serve with nachos/ tortilla chips or add to your favourite Mexican dish. Delicious Restaurant style Salsa is ready to serve!

Notes

  • I used fresh tomatoes, you can use canned ones for bright red colour.
  • If using raw jalapeños, deseed and add to avoid excess heat and spice.
  • I added lemon juice since I did not have lime.
  • Do not add water while pulsing as it will make the salsa runny. Tomatoes and lime juice are enough to make the salsa in the right consistency
  • Do not store the salsa for a long time as the colour and taste might change.
