Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • All purpose flour- 3 tbsp
  • Sugar- 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Cocoa powder- 1 tbsp + 2 tsp
  • Baking powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt- 1/8 tsp

Wet Ingredients:

  • Coconut oil- 3 tsp
  • Milk- 3 tbsp
  • Vanilla extract- 1/2 tsp

Directions

  1. Add the dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well.
  2. Add coconut oil to a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds to melt. Add all the wet ingredients and mix well.
  3. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well with a whisk to form smooth lump-free batter
  4. Pour the batter into a greased bowl and microwave for 60 seconds in normal power. Cool down for 10 minutes and remove it on a plate using knife and invert. Serve warm topped with chocolate sauce or any frosting of your choice. Delicious Chocolate Mug Cake is ready to eat!

Notes

  • If the cake is not done in 60 seconds, microwave for 15 to 30 seconds more. Ensure not to over bake as it will deflate.
  • You can also add nutella, chocolate chips or even chocolate chunks to make it more chocolaty.
  • You can substitute coconut oil with melted butter or any flavorless cooking oil like vegetable oil or sunflower oil
  • I made it in a cup and inverted it; you can make in a mug and serve directly.
  • If you are inverting the cake, make sure it has cooled down to room temperature.

How to make Chocolate Mug Cake?

1. Add the dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well.

3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well with a whisk to form smooth lump-free batter.

4. Pour the batter into a greased microwave safe bowl/ mug and microwave for 60 seconds. Cool down for 10 minutes and remove it on a plate using knife and invert or simply indulge in the mug itself.
